Denville bank robbery suspect in custody

A 31-year-old Morris Plains resident was charged early Monday with robbing the TD Bank in Denville Saturday morning.

Larry Zhou of Route 10, Morris Plains, was charged with Saturday's heist and has been lodged in the Morris County jail in lieu of $125,000 bail, according to a criminal complaint filed in Superior Court, Morristown. The complaint bears Monday's date as day of arrest.

The complaint alleges that Zhou put a bank teller in fear of imminent bodily injury by passing a note to the employee that demanded money. The complaint did not state the amount of money allegedly stolen.

Zhou also has a detainer for contempt of court out of East Orange.

The alleged hold-up occurred around 10:09 a.m. at the TD Bank at the corner of East Main Street (Route 53) and Luger Road. Authorities later released images from bank surveillance cameras and a description of a slim Asian person wearing a black knit cap, black jacket, sunglasses, yellow scarf and black gloves.

The suspect fled the scene in what police believe was a black 4-door sedan with tinted windows.
