RANDOLPH – Sophomore attack TT Naslonski was all the offense the Randolph girls lacrosse team needed as the Rams defeated Montville 13-5 on Wednesday.

Naslonski finished with seven goals as Randolph improved to 4-2. She now has 33 goals on the season.

"I think it was help from my teammates setting picks for me and helping me get open and receive the ball, without them I couldn't have done it," Naslonski said. "I was expecting a tough, hard game but we came out strong and I think in the end it definitely paid off."

Randolph jumped out to a 5-0 lead with 6:47 left in the first half thanks in part to a hat trick from Naslonski. Sophomore midfielder Claudia Trionfo scored with 5:44 left to get Montville on the board, 5-1, and senior attack Julia LoBasso scored with 1:59 to play and the Rams led 5-2 at halftime.

Naslonski struck for her fourth goal just 32 seconds into the second half to give Randolph a 6-2 advantage and McGinniss followed with her second of the afternoon for a 7-2 lead. Naslonski then scored three-straight and the Rams took a 10-2 lead with 16:38 to go.

LoBasso scored with 13:34 to play to get the Mustangs (2-4) within 10-3, but another three goals from senior attack Megan Eberly, junior midfielder Natalie Panvini and freshman defender Roma Hladky pulled Randolph ahead 13-3 with 6:08 remaining.

In the final 2:25 sophomore midfielder Kelsey Perretta scored on an assist from senior midfielder Zoe Tabakman and Tabakman scored for the 13-5 final.

"I think we played well, we did really well on crashing because usually we have a problem with that but I think today we did nice on that," Randolph sophomore goalie Sutton Todd said of her defense. "We did really well on our redefending as well."

In the first half Trionfo won five of eight draw controls for Montville, but in the second half it was McGinniss who won eight of 12 for the Rams.

"I think the way we adjust really helps us," McGinniss said. "When we're on the draw I know where I want to place it and I know my teammates know where I'm going to place it, so we communicate and I push it to them or I push it to myself and we just work together and get the ball."

Randolph started the season strong with wins over Morris Catholic and Livingston, then fell to Ridgewood but bounced back with a win over Indian Hills. On Monday the Rams lost to Morristown 12-8, but with a record of 4-2 are only one win away from matching last season's total of five.

"Our team chemistry has definitely built from the beginning, it's gotten so much better," Naslonski said.

"We're definitely improving on each game and we're working on our skills at practice," McGinniss added. "We're working hard and we know what we need to get done."
