Weather to make for lousy evening commute in Morris

The evening commute is likely to be an ugly one.

The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for Morris County, warning that snow and sleet will begin falling in the early afternoon and will create hazardous driving conditions for the evening commute.

The precipitation is expected to start as snow before it eventually changes over to sleet with the temperature hovering around 36 amid a wind blowing at about 8 mph.

Total daytime snow and sleet accumulation of less than a half inch is possible, according to the Weather Service, which said that rain will fall after 2 a.m.

There is a chance of showers before 8 a.m. tomorrow and then a drizzle is likely between 8 a.m. and 1 p.m., then a slight chance of showers after 1 p.m. The temperature will rise to a high near 52.
