Storm leaves 5,300 without power in Morris

More than 5,300 JCP&L customers in Morris County are experiencing power outages on Thanksgiving morning, according to the First Energy Storm Center website.
The majority of the affected customers as of 9:45 a.m. are in Washington (1,723), Mount Olive (1,681), Jefferson (1,087) and Randolph (577). Scattered outages following the first nor'easter snow event in New Jersey this season also exist in Roxbury, Rockaway Township, Netcong, Mount Arlington, Morristown and the Mendhams.
The website attributes the outages to severe weather. Updates are available at http://outages.firstenergycorp.com/nj.html.
