Scarlett O’Hara and Rhett Butler will light up cinema screens once again, as the classic film “Gine with the Wind” returns to local movie theaters at 2 and 7 p.m. on Sept. 28 and Oct. 1.

Presented by Fathom Events, Warner Bros. Home Entertainment and Turner Classic Movies, the 10-time Oscar-winning film will be exhibited at over 650 theaters across the country. The screening, which will feature a fully-remastered presentation of the film in its original aspect ratio and complete with intermission, will also include a specially-produced introduction by TCM host and film historian Robert Osborne.

The film was originally released in 1939, winning the Best Picture Academy Award. According to a news release it has been re-released nine times over the years, but the Sept. 28 and Oct. 1 screening will be the first opportunity audiences will have to see the film in its original 1:37 aspect ratio since its first re-release, back in 1947.

New Jersey theaters hosting screenings include Starplex Cinemas in East Windsor, East Hanover 12 in East Hanover, Hazlet 12 in Hazlet, Garden State 16 in Paramus, Rockaway 16 in Rockaway, Movies 16 in Somerdale, Seacourt 10 in Toms River, Hamilton 24 in Trenton, Wayne 14 in Wayne, Clifton Commons 16 in Clifton and Edgewater 16 in Edgewater.

Warner Bros. Home Entertainment will release a Blu-ray and Digital HD “Gone with the Wind 75th Anniversary Ultimate Collector’s Edition” on Sept. 30. The release, which will also be in the original aspect ration, will be released in limited, numbered sets with new special features and collectible memorabilia.
