Wine and cheese networking event planned by Parsippany chamber

The Parsippany Area Chamber of Commerce will host “Wine and Cheese Social: Assessing Short-Run Economic Risks” from 6 to 7:30 p.m. on Monday at The Provident Bank, 401 Smith Road.

The featured speaker will be Alan Segars, chief investment officer of Beacon Trust Co. He has worked in the financial industry for more than 30 years and leads and manages Beacon’s investment policy.

This event is free for chamber members, $5 for nonmembers, and includes wine, cheese and networking.

Parsippany school board meets Tuesday

The Parsippany Board of Education has scheduled a meeting for Tuesday at Rockaway Meadow Elementary School, 160 Edwards Road.

The meeting will begin with a closed session at 6:30 p.m. and a regular session at 7:30 p.m. with the paying of bills being on the agenda.

Casino Night in Randolph

RANDOLPH – The Shongum Mountain Fire Co. will hold its 11th annual Casino Night fundraiser on Saturday at its firehouse, located at Arrow Place and West Hanover Ave.

Doors open at 7 p.m., and the gaming runs from 7:30 to 10:30 p.m., according to a press release from the fire company, which said that the annual event gives party-goers the chance to use “fun money” to play a variety of Las Vegas-style games including blackjack, roulette, craps and poker.

A $50 admission entitles guests to one bonus prize coupon and a $125 voucher if prepaid ($75 voucher at the door) to start their games.

When guests are ready to play, they can exchange the vouchers at any table for playing chips.

More vouchers can be purchased during the evening.

‘Septemberfest’ in Chatham

Chatham Athletic Foundation will hold its third annual Septemberfest fundraising event from 7 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. on Saturday at Reasoner Park and Firehouse Plaza, outside the Chatham Fire House.

The event will feature a live band, local food, specialty Martini’s and open bar, cigars, beer and wine.

Ticket are $150; all proceeds support the CAF mission to enhance youth athletics in the Chathams by helping fund such large scale projects as Lum Field and the Shunpike Field Renovation and smaller grants including funding for the Beach Volleyball Court and start-up funding for the Chatham Youth Cross Country, Track and Field programs.

Chatham Club’s Fit-to-Food 5K

The Chatham Club will sponsor a “Fit-to-Food 5K” run at 9:45 a.m. on Sunday at 484 Southern Blvd, Chatham.

Runners and walkers, individuals and teams, and families and friends are invited to participate in the club’s first run to benefit The Community FoodBank of New Jersey.

Food and beverages, music and a physical therapy booth will be available for participants after the event.

An awards and thank you ceremony will be conducted in The Chatham Club parking lot.

Parking will be available at the following locations: The Fairmount Commons, 466 Southern Blvd.; Nash Field, 405 Southern Blvd.; Oak Knoll Field, 300 Green Village Road.; and Hickory Place Road. The Chatham Club parking lot will be closed.
