High School Roundup: Zarra leads Hanover Park girls soccer

Junior forward Gianna Zarra had a goal and an assist as the Hanover Park girls soccer team beat Butler 3-1 on Wednesday.

Junior midfielder Anna Lazur and senior midfielder Gianna Parlavecchio also scored for the Hornets (4-1). Junior midfielder Ally DeRiggi had an assist. For the Bulldogs (2-3), senior forward Amanda Kneppel scored.

Madison 0, Whippany Park 0 (2OT): Senior goalie Kristina Qualben made 11 saves for the Dodgers (3-0-1). Sophomore goalie Kate Matrisciano made eight saves for the Wildcats (3-2-1).

Parsippany 2, Kinnelon 0: Sophomore midfielder Haley Pignatelli and junior defender Meghan Wisniewski each had a goal to lead the Red Hawks (1-5). Sophomore forward Salena LeDonne and freshman midfielder Faith Preziosi each had an assist. Sophomore goalie Kiera Lewis made 13 saves for the shutout.

Pequannock 0, Villa Walsh 0 (2OT): Sophomore goalie Skyler Troast made 10 saves for the Panthers (3-1-1). Junior Sean Sinko and senior Colleen Brennan combined for eight saves for the Vikings (4-0-1).

Morristown-Beard 7, St. Elizabeth 0: Senior Kristy Cotter had two goals and one assist for the Crimson (3-3). Junior Cami Calafiore scored twice. Sofea Stanton, Samantha Siragusa and Dani Kabat each had one goal and one assist.

Kittatinny 6, Hopatcong 2: Junior midfielder Gabbi Sarni led the Cougars (2-3) with a hat trick and one assist. Freshman forward Kelly Insalaco scored twice and senior forward Madison Harpell had three assists. For the Chiefs (1-3), sophomores Sierra Simon and Kristinia Freeley both scored.

High Point 3, Sussex Tech 0: Jessica Amick, Elle Sarracco and Alexa Smolen all scored for the Wildcats (2-3). Senior goalie Lydia Fountaine made seven saves for the shutout.

Wallkill Valley 1, North Warren 0: Junior midfielder Anna Lacalamita scored on an assist from junior forward Brielle Hilbert to lift the Rangers (3-2). Sophomore goalie Katie Bertoa made six saves for the shutout. Sophomore goalie Kellyanne Farrell made 10 saves for the Patriots (3-2).

Boys Soccer

Dover 5, Boonton 1: Junior striker Juan Osorio led Dover (3-2) with two goals. Tigers junior midfielder Juan Parra Chavez scored his first varsity goal in the 60th minute. Matt Hesse scored Boonton's goal in the 20th minute, making the score 2-1.

Mountain Lakes 3, Morris Catholic 1: Conrad Hsiang, Mitchell Goodbar and Christian Van Dyke scored for undefeated Mountain Lakes (5-0). Junior midfielder Bryan Medina had Morris Catholic's lone goal in the second half.

Hanover Park 2, Butler 1: Sophomore midfielder Sebastian Dale had a goal and an assist for the host Hornets (2-3). Junior striker Chris Acquaire scored for Butler (2-2-1).

High Point 1, Sussex Tech 0: Freshman Sawyer Fenlon scored the lone off the crossbar as High Point improved to 5-0, its best start since 2003.

North Warren 3, Wallkill Valley 1: Senior striker Gavin Gross had a goal and an assist for North Warren (5-1) in the NJAC-Colonial match. Senior striker Lukas Budzel scored for Wallkill Valley (0-3-2) in the second half.

Morristown 1, Randolph 0 (OT): Sophomore striker Edwin Hernandez scored the lone goal on Tuesday. Junior Alan Maldonado made six saves for his second shutout.

Mendham 3, West Morris 2: Mendham junior Julian Montilus had two goals and an assist in Tuesday night's battle of sister schools. Midfielders Liam Moylan and Taylor Krattiger scored for West Morris (0-5).

Field Hockey

Montville 2, Morris Hills 0: Mustangs goalkeeper Sara Karback made one save for the shutout. Kayla Armando and Allie Pierson scored Montville's goals.

Lenape Valley 4, Mount Olive 0: Senior forward Cassidy Forik scored twice. Goalkeeper Kaylee Gentillucci made three saves for her second shutout (4-1).

Newton 3, Vernon 0: Sophomore Natalie Rivas scored the first two Newton goals off assists by sophomore Brittany Schummann. Braves goalkeepers Jenna Zawislak and Amanda Alessandra made two saves for the shutout.
