The Parsippany Main Library invites the public to join them for NJ Maker Day 2016, from 10 a.m. to noon on Saturday at the library, located at 449 Halsey Road.

Makers from across New Jersey will be participating in the annual NJ Makers Day 2016 to celebrate and share maker culture. DIY crafts and building stations will be available downstairs in Meeting Room B or the Children’s Department.

Building stations are for ages 3 and up, crafts are for a variety of ages.

The Township of Parsippany-Troy Hills will host a visit from the Easter Bunny at 10 a.m. on Saturday at the Parsippany Municipal Building, located at 3333 Route 46 in Parsippany.

ROXBURY

The First Presbyterian Church of Succasunna will host their annual Fish & Chips/Chicken Dinner from 5-7 p.m. on Saturday at the church, located at 99 Main St.

Dinners provided by Argyle Restaurant of Kearny. Serving times are 5 p.m., 6 p.m. and 7 p.m.

Cost is $16 for 12 years and older and $8 for 11 years and younger. Take-out orders to be picked up by 4:30 p.m.

The Friends of the Randolph Animal Pound will host a Cat and Kitten Adoption Event from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday at PetValu, located at 84 East Main Street in Mendham (in the Kings Supermarket Shopping Plaza).

Kittens and cats of all ages and colors will be looking to find their new best friend!

ANDOVER TWP.

The Fred S. Burroughs North Jersey Chapter, Trout Unlimited, will hold their Annual Fundraising Banquet beginning at 6 p.m. on Saturday, March 19 at Perona Farms, located at 350 Andover Sparta Road in Andover.

Cost is $60 per person and includes cocktail hour, raffles, and buffet dinner. The event is a fundraiser for Trout Unlimited and will benefit their major project to enhance and restore the Sparta Glen Brook, located in Sparta.

Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church is hosting “Easter for Kids!” from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday at the church, located at 40 Coleman Road in Long Valley.

On Easter morning, angels stand at the empty tomb to joyfully declare “He is not here – He is risen!” Join us at Immanuel to hear of Jesus’ victory and his gift of eternal life.

Children ages 3-14 will learn about the Jesus' Easter Resurrection, play games, learn songs, search for Easter Eggs, and have some snacks. Registration begins at 8:45 a.m.

PEQUANNOCK

The Pequannock Twp. Library will host a Meet the Artist with Carla Hicks from 1-3 p.m. on Saturday at the library, located at 477 Newark Pompton Turnpike in Pompton Plains.

The library will host “An exhibition of the work of Carla Hicks” through Mach 31. Part of the proceeds from sales of her work will go to Disabled American Veterans.

MOUNT OLIVE

The Knights Of Coulmbus, Council 5410, Flanders, will be sponsoring a shredding event at its council hall on Schmidt Lane.

Donations are $5 per bag (brown grocery bag) or $7 per box (copy paper box size). Hard drives, if removed from the computer will be punched destroyed for $5 each, according to a press release from the Knights.

HANOVER

The Whippany Fire Co.’s second annual 5k Race/walk will be held on May 1.

The race starts and finishes at BeeMeadow Park. The participants will be going along Reynold Avenue to Highland Avenue to Troy Hills Road to BeeMeadow Parkway to Reynolds Avenue back to the park.

The course is certified by the USATF and is a sanctioned race offering the Grand Prix worth 500 points. Compuscore will be the scoring company for the event. Scoring groups will be top male/female, 19 and under, 5-year age groups 20 to 85+, top 3 firefighters running in turn out gear.

WASHINGTON TWP.

The Township Recreation Department along with Donna Kendrick, a registered nurse and diabetes educator, is sponsoring a free seminar on the benefit of diabetes awareness.

The program takes place at Washington Twp. Senior Center, 34 East Springtown Road, Long Valley, on April 25, fromt 10:30-11:30 am.

ROCKAWAY

The Morris Hills High School Madrigal Choir will be one of the attractions as the Rotary of the Rockaways hosts “A Night on Broadway” event.

The tricky tray fundraiser is being held at the White Meadow Lake Country Club on April 29 at 7 p.m. The tricky tray that evening will feature a QVC tour for six, a handcrafted wooden rocking horse, a professionally written family history and more, according to a press release from the Rotary.

Tickets for “A Night on Broadway” can be purchased in advance at the Rockaway Borough Municipal Building, Little Learner Academy in Rockaway and Denville, or can be purchased at the door the evening of the event. On April 16, area caregivers can access information and resources critical to their role of caring for a loved one at an event that is part of the inaugural United Way of Northern New Jersey Caregivers Coalition Conference Series.

Held at the Ukrainian American Cultural Center of New Jersey, 60 North Jefferson Road, in Whippany from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., the free conference will provide presentations and resources to help unpaid caregivers who assist loved ones of any age who are ill, frail or living with a disability or mental illness. HACKETTSTOWN

Renowned chef, author, artist and media personality, Jacques Pépin will be the celebrity chef at Newton Medical Center’s “An Evening of Wine and Roses,” the annual fundraiser benefitting the Newton Medical Center Foundation.

The event, which gives guests a chance to sample food from eateries in the region and a robust selection of wine and liquor, will take place on May 19, from 5:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. at Centenary College’s David and Carol Lackland Center, 715 Grand Avenue, Hackettstown.

Jacques Pépin has hosted 13 popular cooking series on public television, written more than two dozen cookbooks, and is a gifted artist.

Tickets to this year’s event are $125 per person. VIP tickets can be purchased for $225 each or $375 per couple. The Board of Trustees of the Denville Public Library will meet in special session to interview candidates for the position of Library Director. MORRISTOWN

At 5 p.m. on April 9, The Sandy Hook Ride on Washington will make one New Jersey stop on their 400-mile bicycle ride from Newtown, CT. to Washington, D.C. advocating gun legislation. The 26 riders will arrive to a Welcome Rally at Morristown’s Town Hall.

The event is open to the public and families are encouraged to attend. Bring handmade signs to show your support for Team 26 as they arrive in Morristown!

Following at 7 p.m. at HYATT Morristown, Team26 will be the special guests at a fundraising dinner hosted by Mayor Timothy P. Dougherty and with the New Jersey Youth Chorus performing. Proceeds will benefit Mary’s Fund in memory of Mary Sherlach, the school psychologist at the Sandy Hook School and mother of South Jersey resident and teacher Maura Sherlach. Mary’s Fund supports programs that aid the mental and social wellness of children and adolescents just as Mary Sherlach did in her day-to-day life.

At 8:30 a.m. on Sunday, April 10, supporters will gather for an upbeat send-off of Team26 from the Speedwell Avenue doors of the HYATT Morristown. Area bicyclists are invited to follow behind the 26 green-clad cyclists for as long as they are able as the Sandy Hook Ride on Washington continues on to Philadelphia.

PARSIPPANY

Writer and scholar Debórah Dwork will present the annual Joseph Gotthelf Holocaust Memorial Lecture held at Temple Beth Am in Parsippany on April 29, at 7:30 p.m.

Sponsored by the Joseph Gotthelf Holocaust Memorial Fund with support from Temple Beth Am, the April 29 Lecture is part of the yearly commemoration of Yom Hashoah, a day set aside to memorialize those lost in the Holocaust.

Debórah Dwork is the Rose Professor of Holocaust History and the founding Director of the Strassler Center for Holocaust and Genocide Studies at Clark University in Worcester, MA. Dwork wrote the award-winning “Auschwitz,” which Newsweek voted one of the Ten Best Books about Poland during World War II, and the Guardian identified as the best guide to the site in English today.

ROCKAWAY

Paws-itive Experience and Eleventh Hour Rescue invites the public to their Spring Agility Superstar Showcase at 7 p.m. on April 14 at Paws-itive Experience, located at 114 Beach Street, Building #5, Second Floor, in Rockaway.

The event features the daring escapades of Benji, Biscuit, Dune, Gloria, Oliver, Sage and Spanky, who have been diligently training to show off their skills. These dogs, and many others with Eleventh Hour Rescue, are looking for their forever homes. Besides showing off their skills on the agility course, they are well-behaved, walk very well on a leash and love to meet new people.

Admission is free but a donation of treats, food, toys, supplies or money is welcome to support these wonderful dogs.

FLORHAM PARK

The College of St. Elizabeth is holding a campus-wide open house for traditional undergraduate and continuing studies students and graduate students on April 23, beginning at 10 a.m. in the Annunciation Center.

During the open house, prospective students and their family and friends will have a tour of the college, meet the faculty, and learn about the college’s programs, activities, and financial aid opportunities, according to a press release from the college.
