MORRISTOWN – Another sold out show resulted in a record amount raised for local schools, as this year’s Morristown Onstage raised more than $90,000.

That figure is a significant jump from 2015’s total of $76,000.

All of the money raised from the ninth annual event, hosted each year by the Morris Educational Foundation, benefits the Morris School District.

“The Morris Educational Foundation is an integral part of the Morris School District and this fund raising event will further the Foundation’s ability to distribute financial and other resources to and for the Morris School District,” said Molly Servais, Morristown ONSTAGE chair and Morris Educational Foundation board member. “We are thrilled to have raised the most ever, over $90,000, in our talent show’s history and to highlight the incredible talent in our community.”

The show was held at the Mayo Performing Arts Center on Feb. 24 and featured 15 amateur acts from Morristown, Morris Township, and Morris Plains.

This year’s winners included two singers who also played guitar in Leah Humphrey and James Gedeon, a duet by middle school students, Truly Brave, and a special scholarship award given to Molly McDermott, who sang a classic Barbara Streisand Broadway hit.
