MORRISTOWN - The body of a man was found behind the Sushi Lounge on Schuyler Place Tuesday morning, and the Morris County Prosecutor's Office said there is no danger to the community.
Investigators from the Morristown Police Department, the Morris County Prosecutor's Office and Morris County Sheriff's Office were working for several hours behind the restaurant Tuesday morning. The Sushi Lounge is in a row of businesses on Schuyler Place that includes Tito Burrito's, a title search company, a barbershop and Morris County Republican Committee headquarters.
The Prosecutor's Office declined to immediately release additional information, but Denise Arseneault, deputy chief of investigations, said, "This matter continues to be investigated, but it is considered to be an isolated incident, and there is no danger to the community."
County Republican Chairman John Sette, whose headquarters is near the site, said he learned that the deceased is a young Hispanic man and that one man who identified himself as his brother came to the scene.
The rear of the businesses consists of narrow strips of grass and concrete mostly separated from each other by chain-link fences. The rear of the businesses is accessible through an alleyway and from a small parking lot. The scene on Schuyler Place is one street over from the Morris County Courthouse.
Morristown police Lt. Stuart Greer and Police Chief Peter Demnitz were at the scene at various times and both acknowledged that a body was found but referred all questions to the Prosecutor's Office.
