This is the 15th and final profile in a series highlighting the finalists of Morristown Onstage, to be held Feb. 24 at the Mayo Performing Arts Center.

MORRISTOWN – Just two years removed from a third place finish, Joe Van Loon will return to the Mayo Performing Arts Center stage for another shot at gold.

Joe Van Loon, 22, of Morris Plains, appeared in Morristown Onstage, then known as Morristown’s Got Talent, in 2014 as part of a duo.

Van Loon sang a crooning performance of “Autumn Leaves" by Joseph Kosma as friend Christopher Del Sordi played guitar.

They placed third and split a $250 prize.

This time around Van Loon is going solo, performing an “old school tap dance routine” he said was influenced by his ancestors.
