Jefferson woman arrested on heroin charges

JEFFERSON – A township resident picked up after a warrant was issued for her arrest was found to be in possession of 44 packets of heroin, police said.

At 1:30 p.m. on Monday, Officer David Wroblewski stopped a vehicle being driven on West Shawnee Trail because there was an active warrant out for the arrest of the driver, Sara Margolin, 31, of Jefferson, police said.

Margolin was taken into custody and police found that she was in possession of 44 wax folds of suspected heroin, police said.

As a result, Margolin and was additionally charged with possession of heroin and driving while intoxicated for being under the influence of suspected heroin, police said.

The original arrest warrant for Margolin was authorized on Monday for possession of heroin and possession with the intent to distribute after a brief investigation by Detective Sean Krater and Detective Justin Gjelsvik.

Margolin was transported to the Morris County correctional facility in lieu of $35,000 bail on all of the charges.
