State police on lookout for Morris 'Ninja' thieves
Couple stealing blenders from Walmarts
New Jersey State Police are blending criminology with social media in an effort to nab a pair of suspects in a string of Ninja-brand blender thefts in Morris and Sussex counties.
State Police detectives are investigating shoplifting complaints that came from Walmart stores between Dec. 20 and Jan. 12 in Mount Olive and Hampton and Franklin in Sussex county.
Surveillance photos obtained from the locations identified two suspects, a man and woman who investigators describe as a couple.
"Not everyone in this world is lucky enough to find their soul mate," State Police posted on their Facebook page. "As fate would have it, these two wayward souls found each other and a shared penchant for stealing Ninja blenders."
The photos include clear images of the faces of both suspects and the car they used, believed to be a dark-colored 2013-2014 Ford Fusion.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Detective Darran Crane or Detective Mike Braccioforte at the Sussex station at 973 383-1514.
State Police say they are increasing the department's social media presence because the tips they generate, particularly in southern New Jersey, have produced positive results in many investigations.
