Evening commute could be messy in Morris County

Staff report

The commute home could be messy.

Rain and snow could make this evening’s commute slow in Morris County.

A Hazardous Weather Outlook has been issued for Morris County with the forecast calling for a chance of snow showers this afternoon and then rain and snow showers likely in the evening.

The chance of precipitation is 60 percent and the total daytime snow accumulation should not be more than half an inch, if that, although the Poconos might get an inch, according to the National Weather Service.

The chance of snow will linger into the night with temperatures hitting a low of around 22.

The forecast for the rest of the week does not include any more precipitation until Saturday when rain and snow showers are possible before 10 a.m.
