The 12-year-old, who was not named because he was a minor, was struck near the intersection of Thompson Avenue and Chestnut Street at about 7:30 a.m. Monday, Saldida said.

The boy suffered a broken ankle as a result of the crash and was taken to the Morristown Medical Center for treatment, Saldida said.
