A Ledgewood go-go bar was robbed at gunpoint Monday morning, Roxbury police said.

Authorities are investigating an armed robbery at the Smiles 2 go-go bar in Ledgewood.

Police responded to the Smiles II go-go bar on Route 46 West near Route 10 in Ledgewood at about 12:30 a.m. Monday for a report of an armed robbery, spokesperson Jennifer Dillard said.

Roxbury Police Chief James Simonetti said four male actors entered the building armed with guns, though the exact type of firearm was not disclosed.

The men then stole cash from the bar and left within five to 10 minutes, Simonetti said. The exact amount of U.S. currency stolen was not known as of noon Monday, he added.

One bar manager was injured during the robbery after being struck by one of the men, Simonetti said. He was treated and released at the scene.

Roxbury detectives and the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office are working together on the investigation, Simonetti said.

“Detectives are working diligently on the matter and are reviewing all videos at the scene,” Simonetti said.

The Morris County Sheriff’s Criminal Investigative Division and K9 Unit assisted police at the scene Monday.

A man who picked up the phone at Smiles II at noon Monday said everyone was fine following the robbery, but declined to comment further.

Roxbury police directed additional questions to the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office, who confirmed only that there is an active investigation into the robbery.
