Eric J. Logan, 30, of Marshalls Creek, Pennsylvania, appeared Tuesday for a bail review before state Superior Court Judge William McGovern in Morristown via a closed circuit television link between the courtroom and the Morris County Jail.

Logan, who told the judge he works as a musician for his father in the entertainment industry, was charged Monday in Montville with possession with intent to distribute 450 wax paper folds of heroin, and possession of heroin found in a fanny pack. Police Lt. Andrew Caggiano said the arrest was the result of a routine motor vehicle stop Monday morning and that Logan was a passenger in the car driven by someone who was not charged.

Asking that bail be maintained at $150,000, Assistant Morris County  Prosecutor Sean Gaynor told the judge that Logan has an outstanding charge out of Roxbury for faillure to appear in court on a hindering apprehension charge, and that he was charged with multiple offenses as a juvenile.

The reference to his juvenile history prompted Logan, who has lived in Boonton, to grumble that he has dealt with all juvenile offenses and didn't know why they were mentioned. He said that if necessary, he would stay with a relative in Morris Plains so he could attend court hearings.

At one point he objected to being charged with intent to distribute, though the judge had cautioned him to keep silent about the charges.
