The New Jersey State Police are trying to identify a woman who broke into the Fredon Township Board of Education Building, then apparently left without stealing or damaging any property.

New Jersey State Police on Monday released this surveillance photo of a woman they say broke into the Fredon Township Board of Education building, but left after an hour without stealing or damaging any property.

Detectives are concerned about the woman's well-being after the unusual incident that took place about 4:30 a.m. on Nov. 29. According to a report posted Monday on the State Police Facebook page, the woman forced a door open and remained inside for about an hour.

"We have no leads, and we are just hoping someone might see the photo and recognize her," said Sgt. Jeffrey Flynn.

Flynn said the Facebook page has been successfully used in the past to identify perpetrators of small crimes caught on camera, although most of them took place in the southern regions of the state.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Sussex Station Detective Bureau at 973-383-1514. Anonymous tips will be accepted.
