1 Thing We Love About Morris County: The Women's Theater Company

Morristown Daily Record

The Daily Record has a new feature called 1 Thing We Love About Morris County. Each weekday around noon we will post a picture and a brief description of something in Morris County, or the surrounding area, that we love. Today we look at a professional theater group in Lake Hiawatha.

The Women's Theater Company, Parsippany

Parsippany resident Barbara Krajkowski founded the Women's Theater Company more than two decades ago. Next year, the formerly nomadic troupe, which previously spent time in Madison, Morris Township and Wayne, celebrates its 10th anniversary in its permanent home at the Parsippany Community Center. Krajkowski, mother of Emmy and Tony-winning actress Jane Krakowski ("30 Rock, "Ally McBeal"), is a township treasure, reviving award-winning comedies, dramas, musicals and even staging a few world premieres written by or particularly relevant to women. The casts include professional actors and musicians, but tickets are closer to community-theater prices at the intimate Parsippany Playhouse. A new season begins Nov. 6 to 15 with Nora and Delia Ephron's "Love, Loss and What I Wore." Treat yourself to a great, affordable night out and support the arts.
