HACKETTSTOWN - A woman was twice issued summonses for disorderly conduct on Halloween after reportedly causing a scene at the hospital because she needed to get home to cook chili for a party, police said.

At about 9:10 a.m. Saturday, police responded to the Hackettstown Regional Medical Center’s Emergency Department for a reportedly intoxicated female acting disorderly, Sgt. Darren Tynan said.

Officers arrived and were told that Eileen Kuck, 58, of Mansfield, was cursing and yelling because her husband refused to pick her up so she could make chili for a Halloween party, Tynan said.

Officers told Kuck to stop making a scene and left the ER, but before they left the parking lot a nurse flagged them down to say Kuck was being disruptive again, Tynan said.

Police then told Kuck she would receive a summons for disorderly conduct if they had to return to the hospital again, Tynan said.

Police were then called back to the emergency department at about 10:24 a.m. and again at 11:18 a.m. for Kuck yelling and cursing, Tynan said.

Kuck was charged with disorderly conduct for both times and released pending a court appearance.

The medical reason Kuck was at the hospital was not disclosed, nor was person who brought here there, Tynan said.

No information on whether the woman was able to make the chili in time for the Halloween party was available Monday.
