Suspects at large after assault at Parsippany tavern

PARSIPPANY – Police are looking for at least three men in connection with an assault that allegedly included the use of a box cutter and sent one man to the hospital.

At 2:22 a.m. on Sunday, police were advised by the Morristown Police Department that a man at Morristown Medical Center was being treated for a puncture wound to his lip which occurred during an assault outside of the Mount Holleran Towne Tavern on Beverwyck Road.

Sgt. R Cooper, Sgt. R. Carrozzino along with Officers C. Silva and C. DeLoatch began investigating the incident.

Police spoke to the victim and witnesses and it was determined that the victim had a verbal altercation with at least four people at the Towne Tavern.

The verbal altercation turned physical outside of the tavern at which time one of the four punctured the victims lip with a box cutter type knife, police said. The victim also received bruising and abrasions to his face during the assault.

The victim described three of the alleged assailants: One was described as a white male 5 feet, 6 inches tall, bald, stocky build, clean shaven, and wearing a pink shirt; a second was described as a white male, 5 feet, 6 inches tall, brown hair, stocky build, clean shaven, and wearing a blue sweater; a third was described as a white male, 5 feet 11 inches to 6 feet tall, unshaven face, and wearing a backwards hat.

The Morris County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigative Division responded and processed the scene.
