Short Hills Mall to feature Peanuts in Ice Palace

MILLBURN – The Mall at Short Hills will feature the Peanuts characters in an interactive Ice Palace set up for the holiday season.

“These lovable characters are synonymous with the holidays and what better way to bring them to life than through this memorable experience,” said Janet Cesario, The Mall at Short Hills’ marketing and sponsorship director. “Every year our Ice Palace provides so much joy to families and we’re certain the entire Peanuts gang will bring smiles and laughter to all who visit this season.”

The Peanuts characters will be within an interactive Ice Palace that features a 30-foot dome complete with falling snow and a light show, according to a press release from the Mall.

Children will be able to watch scenes from the new movie, create and compare their icy handprint alongside Snoopy and Woodstock and have their photo taken with a life-size graphic of Snoopy and his dog house, the release said.

The Mall at Short Hills will also offer the opportunity for families to visit with Santa Claus as part of the Ice Palace experience. Those who visit Santa will receive a complimentary gift, the release said.

The Peanuts Ice Palace will be located in Grand Court on the lower level and will be open from Nov. 6 to Dec. 24 during all mall hours; extended holiday shopping hours will be in effect through the season.

“The Peanuts Movie” is scheduled to open in theaters on Nov. 6. The plot has Charlie Brown embarking upon an epic quest, while Snoopy, takes to the skies to pursue his arch-nemesis, the Red Baron.

The Mall at Short Hills is located at Route 24 and JFK Parkway in Short Hills.
