Police: Denville gas station robbed by man with gun

DENVILLE – Police are looking for a man who allegedly used a handgun to rob a gas station in the middle of the day on Thursday.

Police responded to the Sunoco located at 161 Route 46 eastbound at 11:28 a.m. after getting a call about a robbery.

Officers were told that a man had entered the station, displayed a handgun and demanded cash from the attendant, police said.

The suspect got the cash and was last seen fleeing south on Legion Place, police said.

The suspect was described as a white male, between 5 feet, 8 inches tall, weighing between 150 and 170 pounds, wearing a black hooded jacket, black baseball cap and black knee length shorts with horizontal striping, police said.
