Chatham grad earns Ivy League honors

Women's lacrosse

Dartmouth senior Jaclyn Leto (Chatham) was named Ivy League Offensive Player of the Week as well as the conference's Co-Defensive Player of the Week.  The co-captain finished the week with nine goals, which included a game-winner.  She scored a hat trick against No. 8 USC on Wednesday followed by a six-goal performance in a 10-9 comeback victory against No. 16 Penn on Sunday afternoon. These are the first two weekly honors from the Ivy League conference in her career.

Sophomore midfielder Chelsea Orban (West Morris) was named the New Jersey Athletic Conference Women's Lacrosse Rookie of the Week on Monday.  Orban had one goal and one assist along with four draw controls in Montclair's 16-8 win over RPI on Saturday. In seven games this season, she has five goals, in addition to four assists.

Senior Aly Messinger (Mendham) had three assists for North Carolina in its 13-12 win over Boston College on Saturday afternoon.

Junior Maddy Siebold (Mountain Lakes) tallied her ninth goal of the season for Dickinson in its 17-2 victory over Bryn Mawr on Saturday afternoon.

Men's lacrosse

Sophomore Christian Cuccinello (Mountain Lakes) had two goals and four assists for Villanova in a 15-9 victory over Fairfield on Saturday afternoon.

Freshman Chris Donovan (Morristown) scored one goal for Georgetown in its 9-8 loss to Marquette on Saturday afternoon.

Sophomore JP Southren (Randolph) scored one goal for Stevens in its 22-10 win over Alfred on Saturday.

Junior Kevin Lewis (Delbarton) scored three goals for Lafayette in its 16-6 loss to Boston University.

Sophomore Niko Del Moro (Montville) scored one goal in Muhlenberg's 16-4 loss to Franklin & Marshall on Saturday.

Freshman Chris Holleritter (Jefferson) scored one goal for Stockton in its 13-7 victory over DeSales on on Saturday afternoon.

Softball

Senior Dana Nielsen (Pequannock) gave up two earned runs on five hits and four walks while striking out seven as Bucknell defeated Holy Cross, 5-3, in the opening game of Saturday's Patriot League doubleheader. Senior Amanda Fazio (Chatham) was 3-for-3 and also scattered eight hits in the Bison's 5-1 victory.

Baseball

Columbia senior Nick Maguire (Mendham) was 2-for-4 in a 3-0 loss to UConn.

Senior Ryan Karl (Montville) had two hits in Hofstra's 15-10 loss to William & Mary on Saturday.

Michael DeRenzi (Mendham) went 3-for-5, which included an RBI and two stolen bases in Georgetown's 8-4 loss to North Carolina Greensboro on Friday.

Track and field

Dartmouth sophomore Marissa Evans (Rockaway/Pope John) finished 13th in the 400 hurdles at the Raleigh Relays. Freshman Olivia Viparina (Roxbury) anchored James Madison's fifth-place 4x1500, which was eighth in school history. Lehigh junior Marissa Karl (Mount Olive) was 48th in the 1,500 (personal-best 4:38.65). Slippery Rock senior Jenny Picot (Mountain Lakes) won her section of the 5K (NCAA provisional qualifier 17:14.51).

Bucknell senior Jen Silvestri won the 400 hurdles (ECAC-qualifying 1:01.81) at Susquehanna's Jim Taylor Invitational.

George Mason senior Emily Muniz (Parsippany Hills) was fourth in the hammer at the Fred Hardy Invitational in Richmond, Va. William & Mary sophomore Dylan Anderson (Madison) was fourth in the 110 hurdles (personal best 15.33).

Senior Devin Smith (Andover/Pope John) won the 100 and anchored the winning 4x100 at Lafayette's own seven-way meet on Saturday. Lehigh junior Katie Hatler (Jefferson) won the 100 hurdles (15.06). Moravian senior Gavin Bailey (Sparta) was first in the long jump (22-¾). Greyhounds sophomore Kyle Allison (Mountain Lakes) was second in the javelin (ECAC-qualifying 191-2).

Stonehill senior Trisha Pierson (Hanover Park) won the discus (128-3) and was fifth in the shot put at the UMass-Lowell Spring Invitational.

George Washington senior Caroline Wolfe was eighth in the 1,500 (4:54.04) at the Maryland Invitational on Saturday.

Senior Joey Marini (Boonton) led a four-man home-team sweep in the long jump and also won the high jump at the 21st annual Monmouth Season Opener. Junior Malcolm Chavis (Roxbury) was second in the 200 and 400, with freshman Greg Stickle (Randolph) third in the 400. Junior Troy Andretta (Kinnelon) was second in the hammer. Junior Dylan Capwell (Hopatcong) was third in the 1,500. Stickle, Chavis and Capwell were part of Monmouth's winning 4x400. Sophomore Greg Arabagian (Morristown) anchored Stevens' fifth-place 4x400. Montclair State sophomore Matt Santangelo (Hanover Park) was sixth in the shot put. Junior Kelli Hesse (Boonton) led off NJIT's second-place 4x800.

TCNJ senior Kristen Randolph (Morris Knolls) won the 400 hurdles (1:07.72) at the Stockton Invitational. Lions freshman Danielle Cozzarelli (Whippany Park) was fourth in the 100 hurdles. Rutgers-Newark freshman Ed Dennerlein (Chatham) finished second in the shot put and seventh in discus.

East Stroudsburg senior Derrick Washington (Morris Hills) was third in the 200 (PSAC-qualifying 22.35). Freshmen Matt Matrisciano (Whippany Park) and Malik Francis (Parsippany) were fifth and 12th in the 110 hurdles. Francis was seventh in the long jump, and Matrisciano seventh in the 400 hurdles.

Providence sophomore Mackenzie Barry (Mendham) won the 3,000 (10:06.13) at the Stony Brook Quad on Thursday. Stony Brook sophomore Allison Ross (Hanover Park) won the shot put (34-6¾) and discus (117-4)
