Porsche crashes into Netcong restaurant, 4 hurt

NETCONG – Four people were injured Friday when a Porsche Cayenne crashed into a restaurant, police said.

A Porsche Cayenne crashed into a restaurant in Netcong on Friday.

At 8: 27 p.m., the 2012 Porsche SUV was traveling east on Route 46 into Netcong Borough when it left the roadway and crashed into Route 46 Bistro, according to Police Chief James Blesson.

The driver of the vehicle, Xinkai Ma, of Syracuse, N.Y., was uninjured, however his three passengers sustained minor injuries and were transported to a local hospital, Blesson said.

A female patron inside the restaurant was treated for lacerations to her face after getting hit by glass when the vehicle impacted the building, she was also taken to a local hospital, Blesson.

The building had sustained damage to the right corner and stairway area upon impact of the car. It is unclear if there is any structural damage to the building. The building was scheduled to be inspected by the construction code official on Saturday.

New Jersey Natural Gas responded to the scene of the accident due to a ruptured gas main when the vehicle struck the building, Blesson said.

Route 46 was closed in front of the restaurant during the accident investigation due to safety concerns, Blesson said. The accident is currently under investigation by Patrolman Keith Flaherty of the Netcong Police Department.

Also assisting at the scene were the Netcong Fire Department, Netcong Department of Public Works and Stanhope Netcong Ambulance Squad and the Stanhope Police Department.
