Morris duo honored by MAAC

Marist freshman Cameron Harr (Morris Plains) was named Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Week. Monmouth junior goalkeeper Eric Klenofsky (Lincoln Park) was the MAAC Defensive Player of the Week for the third time in the past four weeks and the ninth time in his career.

Harr scored three goals in Marist’s home wins over Canisius and Saint Peter’s, including the game-winner with 1:34 remaining against the Griffs on Sept. 30. Harr registered six points and eight shots, including four on goal in the two games. He has scored a team-high seven goals in just 10 matches.

Klenofsky posted shutouts in both of the Hawks’ matches last week, a 1-0 win over Iona and a 2-0 victory over Siena. They were the 26th and 27th of Klenofsky’s career, and he now has 25 victories, tied for third all-time in the MAAC.

Junior Tim DiBisceglie (Mine Hill) was named Scranton's Athlete of the Week after scoring goals in three consecutive matches.

Tufts sophomore Scott Sclar (Roxbury) scored his first collegiate goal on a penalty kick in a 2-1 loss to Hamilton on Sunday.

Junior Matt Gilbert (Madison) had a season-high eight saves as Boston University blanked American, 1-0, on Saturday afternoon.

FOOTBALL

Yale sophomore linebacker Matt Oplinger (Delbarton) was named Ivy League Defensive Player of the Week, following a 27-12 defeat of Yale. Oplinger led the attack on the Mountain Hawks offense with a career-high 11 solo tackles and a pair of sacks. His unit, which blanked Lehigh in the first half after shutting out Cornell in the second half the week before, registered four sacks and six tackles for lost yardage.

Sophomore Nick Crusco (Oak Ridge) was 20 for 38 for 233 yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions in Susquehanna's 27-24 loss to Muhlenberg. Junior Evan Argiriou (Kinnelon) kicked three extra points and a 39-yard field goal.

WOMEN'S SOCCER

FDU-Florham junior goalkeeper Annie George (Morris Knolls) was named Middle Atlantic Conference Freedom Defensive Player of the Week on Monday afternoon. George made eight saves as the Devils defeated Wilkes, 2-1 in double overtime in the Freedom opener on Saturday.

Junior midfielder Taylor Bramley (Sparta) collected her sixth goal of the season as Georgian Court topped Felician, 3-1.

Sophomore forward Taylor Shannahan (Mendham) had the assist in Stonehill's 1-0 win over St. Michael's on Saturday.

Sophomore Carly DeNigris (Montville) scored the only goal for Muhlenberg in its 3-1 loss to Dickinson on Saturday.

Senior Krista Longo (Morristown) scored her second goal of the season to help William Smith to a sixth straight win, defeating Skidmore, 3-0 on Saturday.

Sophomore Anna Conklin (Randolph) scored a goal for South Carolina in its 2-2 draw with Arkansas on Friday night.

CROSS COUNTRY

Centenary junior Priscilla Ortiz (Morris Knolls) has been named to the Colonial States Athletic Conference honor roll. Ortiz won the women's 5K (20:48) at the Mount Saint Mary's Blue Knight Invitational on Saturday, as the Cyclones finished third.

Wake Forest junior Samantha Jones (Randolph) finished sixth out of 126 runners at the Princeton Inter-Regional on Saturday.

Richmond senior Tara Hanley (Chatham) placed 47th (17:46.73) at the Greater Louisville Classic. Wisconsin sophomore Colette Richter (Mountain Lakes) placed 87th (18:01.32). LaSalle junior Stephen Lewandowski (Mountain Lakes) finished 148th (26:01.3).

Binghamton senior Collin Frost (Randolph) was 17th overall in the men's Gold Race at the Paul Short Run on Friday. Franklin & Marshall sophomore John Vallachi (Morristown) was 117th (28:34). Penn sophomore Chris Luciano (Mountain Lakes) was 76th in the Brown Race.

James Madison freshman Olivia Viparina (Roxbury) was 60th (21:35) in the Gold Race. American junior Reagan Kolakowski (Mendham) placed 239th (23:13). Drew junior Dina Abdeljabbar (Whippany Park) was 125th (27.38) in the White race.

Penn freshman Carole Harsch (Randolph) placed 16th (22:01) in the Brown Race. Allegheny senior Alyssa Brindle (Morris Knolls) finished 50th (personal best 22:27). New Paltz senior Danielle Halikias (Mount Olive) placed 218th (23:54).

FIELD HOCKEY

Sophomore forward Krysten Mayers (Parsippany) scored one goal and dished out one assist in Cornell's 5-2 win over Columbia on Saturday.

Junior forward Amanda Magadan (Randolph) scored a goal in Lafayette's 2-1 win against Lehigh on Saturday afternoon.

Senior forward Maura Johnston (Montville) scored one goal and assisted on two other others to lead Montclair State over Ramapo, 5-0, in its New Jersey Athletic Conference opener on Friday.

TENNIS

Junior Jamie Campisi (Mendham/Villa Walsh) went 3-0 at Lehigh's own invitational. Campisi and Mountain Hawks sophomore Kirstin Godau (Montville) each won singles and doubles matches against Monmouth.

VOLLEYBALL

Junior Ally Karle (Mount Olive) had 12 kills and hit .471 as Elon fell to Towson, 3-1, on Sunday.

Sophomore Stephanie Blair (Mendham) had 36 assists and 15 digs as Gettysburg lost to Haverford and beat Randolph on Saturday.

Junior Caroline Laton (Kinnelon) had six blocks and five kills in Farleigh Dickinson's 3-0 loss to Bryant.

Junior libero Kathy Hormoza led Rutgers-Newark with 11 kills in a pair of losses at Johnson & Wales' Wildcat Classic.

Junior libero Jen Vorel (Madison) registered 18 digs as Rowan split two matches at the Trinity Invitational.

Junior outside hitter Rachel Selmore (Morristown) had eight kills as Ramapo topped Hunter, 3-1, on Friday.
