MORRISTOWN – Six area restaurants will “Dine Out For Life” Thursday, donating a significant portion on their sales to fund local HIV/AIDS services.

During lunch and dinner hours Thursday, participating restaurants will donate one third of their proceeds to benefit people living with HIV/AIDS in New Jersey through nonprofits that aid in the education and prevention of HIV infection and offer support services for those affected by HIV/AIDS.

Participating local restaurants include Hibiscus in Morristown, Veronica’s in Morristown, Fresco in Chester, Nicole’s Ten in Randolph, Café Metro in Denville and Café Mangia in Lafayette.

They’re just a few of the New Jersey restaurants participating in the international Dining Out For Life event, an annual fundraiser to support HIV/AIDS services.

Last year’s Dining Out For Life raised more than $4.2 million in more than 65 North American cities.

This year’s local beneficiary will be the New Jersey AIDS Services, which is headquartered in Morristown.

“Most of us go out to eat at least once a week,” CEO Joann McEniry said. “On Oct. 1, by going to a restaurant that participates in Dining Out For Life, you can make that meal matter.”

Participating costs nothing more than the price of the meal for diners.
