High school roundup: Mollahan leads Morris Catholic over Butler

Junior forward Sean Mollahan had 15 points and nine rebounds to lead the Morris Catholic boys basketball team over Butler 55-45 on Thursday.

Guard Jordan Spencer added 14 points for the Crusaders (6-6). Amir Allen had eight points and 10 rebounds. Sophomore Danny Polons had 11 points and three rebounds for the Bulldogs (1-11). Kevin Rooney scored 13 points and AJ Pelaez had 10 points.

Morris Knolls 78, Parsippany Hills 42: Golden Eagles junior Mike Chapman led all scorers with 22 points. Junior forward Hunter Kaldy added 13 points. Vikings senior forward Ryan Blake had 10 points.

Morristown 65, Livingston 54: Jack Mongey led the Colonials (6-6) with 17 points. Luke Haralampoudis scored 11 points and Kevin Hoehn scored 10 points.

Parsippany 57, Madison 36: Declan Devens led the Red Hawks (6-6) with 24 points, two rebounds and three assists. Hayden Cerrato had 13 points and seven rebounds. Matt Haughey scored nine points for Madison (2-9).

Newton 77, Lenape Valley 42: Newton senior Aidan Black scored 10 of his game-high 26 points in the third quarter. Junior guard Samir Wheeler added 20 for the Braves. Senior forward Quincy Samson had 14 for Lenape Valley.

Mendham 63, Morris Hills 35: Robert Annen scored a game-high 16 points and had five rebounds and two assists to lead the Minutemen (9-3). Keith Hall had 14 points, two rebounds, three assists and three steals. Brad Bundschuh totaled 11 points and seven rebounds. Bill Morin led the Scarlet Knights (5-5) with nine points.

Jefferson 53, Hopatcong 28: Anthony Anderson led the Falcons (9-2) with 15 points. Connor Asay scored 14 points. For the Chiefs (7-4), Chris Marcinek led with nine points.

Mount Olive 74, Chatham 66: Jack Rooney scored 22 points for the Cougars (9-4). Stefan Goles and Colin McKenna each scored 13 points.

Girls Basketball

Morris Knolls 57, Parsippany Hills 55 OT: Caroline Dunn had 19 points and eight rebounds to lead the Golden Eagles (8-4). Krista Mitarotonda had a double-double with 16 points and 12 rebounds. Veronica Serkowska sccored a game-high 22 points for the Vikings (4-5). Victoria Lombardi scored 17 points and Mikaela Dredded had 14 points.

Randolph 43, Roxbury 40: Kiera Cesareo scored 26 points to lead the Rams (9-4). For the Gaels (2-9), Jamie Katzenberger had 13 points, six rebounds and five steals. Sydney Clevenger chipped in 12 points and nine rebounds.

Pequannock 42, Whippany Park 23: Carly Hausleben had 11 points, and Carly Klimek added 10 for Pequannock (8-4). Jenna Holleran led host Whippany Park with 11 points and six rebounds.

Morris Catholic 46, Butler 22: Senior Kate Feeney had eight points, 10 rebounds and three steals for Morris Catholic (10-2) in the NJAC-Independence game. Butler junior Sofia Martini scored a game-high 10 points.

Morris Tech 62, Warren Tech 19: Sophomore Kristen Stevens led four Devils in double figures with 13. Morris Tech freshman guard Melissa Herforth scored the first eight points of the game, finishing with 12 in the first quarter.

Lakeland 55, Morristown 46: Colonials junior Abby Schubiger led all scorers with 18 points. Senior forward Allie Ferrara added 14 points for Morristown (9-1).

Newton 65, Lenape Valley 42: Tara Lynch had a double-double with 35 points, 12 rebounds and four assists for the Braves (8-4). Kayla Chambliss had 15 points and four rebounds. For the Patriots (6-6), Grace Connery totaled 15 points, four rebounds, four assists and three steals. Carly Tarnowski had 11 points and four rebounds.

Jefferson 82, Hopatcong 47: Julia Murawinski led the Falcons (8-4) with 25 points. Ashley Hutchinson scored 21 points. For the Chiefs (4-6), Dana Bibeault scored 21 points.

Madison 41, Parsippany 36: Gaby Conmy had 16 points and five rebounds to lead the Dodgers (7-5). Gaby Fuchs totaled 10 points, nine rebounds, three blocks and three steals. Salena LeDonne led the Red Hawks (2-11) with 13 points. Nicole Hill scored 10 points.

Ice Hockey

Randolph 5, West Morris 0: Senior Mike Slavin had two goals and an assist for the Rams (10-4-2). Senior Garrett Stenberg made eight saves for the shutout.

Montville 4, Mendham 0: Vincent Arlotta had a hat trick to lead the Mustangs (8-5-1). Emerson Emery had one goal and three assists. Tom Maribondo had two assists and goalie Josh Beron made 22 saves for the shutout.
