Gabriel M. Cortesao, a lighting engineer for a production company in New York, was charged Tuesday by borough Officer Joel Phillips with cyber-harassment, terroristic threats, and harassment.  He was lodged in the Morris County jail on $10,000 bail.

Cortesao allegedly made the threats to the woman, 19, on Monday, by using the telephone, texts and Facebook. He is accused of threatening to kill her or put her "in the hospital" and harm members of her family, according to court records.

The victim, from the FDU campus, reported Cortesao's conduct to police around 8:30 p.m. Monday, and also alleged that Cortesao had told her he would put her in the hospital if she didn't do something he wanted her to by 9 p.m. Monday, court records said.

The cyber-harassment charge accuses Cortesao of sending multiple threats to the woman via Facebook.
