Maserati dealership opens in Whippany

WHIPPANY – The first Maserati dealership in Morris County recently opened on Route 10 under the Celebrity Motor Car Company umbrella, with a state-of-the-art building set to debut soon.

The Maserati dealership opened in early June, operating out of a temporary office at 130 Route 10 in Whippany, adjacent to the Celebrity Motorcar lot that also features a Lexus dealership.

Construction on the 8,100 square-foot Maserati of Morris County dealership is expected to be completed by the end of the summer.

Celebrity CEO Tom Maoli said he is thrilled to have the first Maserati dealership in the county. He said Morris County is the ideal location for a Maserati dealership, as it is one of the wealthiest areas in the country.

“The demographics of the county and surrounding areas make this an ideal location from which to sell one of the most unique, ultra-luxury car lines in the world,” Maoli said. “This is a very exciting step for our company and a great opportunity for us to demonstrate what an exceptional luxury car buying experience is all about to a new group of car luxury buyers.”

Maoli also cited increasing sales for the Italian luxury line of vehicles, saying sales rose by 110 percent year over year in the U.S.

“We are eager to have people looking for a very exceptional car to come to our Maserati showroom,” Maoli said.

The completed Morris County store will include a 4,400 square-foot showroom for Maserati’s cars, including the full-size Quattroporte, the midsize Ghibli, and the four-seat convertible GranCabrio.

The dealership will also feature an interactive “configuration room” equipped with a wide screen monitor to help customers choose features for their car and experience physical samples of leather and wood trim.

Maoli formed Celebrity Motor Car Company in 2011 when he purchased the Warnock Auto Group in Whippany. He sold off the Ford and two Chrysler dealerships and kept the Lexus store, renaming it Lexus of Route 10.
