Reward raised to $11,000 in Madison hit-and-run

The reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of a hit-and-run driver who left a man critically injured in Madison has been raised to $11,000.

Morris County CrimeStoppers is continuing its quest for information on the identity of the driver who is believed to have been operating a 2013-15 Hyundai Santa Fe Sport on June 20 and struck a 53-year-old man. The victim was found critically injured around 9:45 p.m. in the area of Main and Prospect streets in Madison.

A $1,000 reward is being offered through CrimeStoppers for information leading to an arrest and an additional $10,000 is being offered upon conviction. The $10,000 is being provided by an anonymous contributor.

Authorities last week released an image caught on a surveillance camera of what is believed to be a Hyundai Santa Fe Sport, manufactured between the years 2013 and 2015. The vehicle was seen leaving the scene of the collision and heading east on Main Street toward Chatham. Damage to the vehicle may be minor and possibly concentrated at its front section.
