MONTVILLE – Charges have been upgraded to attempted murder on a 51-year-old New York resident who is accused of breaking into her ex-boyfriend’s Pine Brook home and pulling the trigger of a loaded handgun multiple times while threatening to kill him.

It was not clear from criminal complaints filed in Superior Court, Morristown, whether the Beretta .22-caliber semiautomatic pistol loaded with hollow point bullets misfired or failed to strike the victim, identified only as R.L.

Lynn A. Wilson, of Geneva, N.Y. was originally charged Sunday with aggravated assault, burglary, possession of a firearm, possession of weapons for an unlawful purpose and possession of hollow point bullets. Additional charges filed Wednesday by Montville police charge Wilson with attempted murder, aggravated assault and endangering the welfare of children, 15 and 16, who were present in the victim’s home when the incident occurred.

Wilson allegedly entered the house armed with the Beretta, a stun gun and folding knife, complaints state. Bail was initially set at $100,000 upon her arrest Sunday but has been increased to $500,000 without a 10 percent option. She is being held in the Morris County jail.

The complaints state that Wilson entered the home of her ex-boyfriend on Sunday, pointed a loaded gun and pulled the trigger multiple times while threatening “I’m going to kill you.”

The complaints also charge Wilson with violating a domestic violence restraining order that barred her from contact with the ex-boyfriend, and with being a person prohibited from possessing a firearm because of a prior conviction for domestic violence.

A request for additional information is pending with the spokesperson for the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office, who earlier in the week said the case was under investigation and additional information would not be released at that time.
