Police Blotter: Trespassing in Boonton Twp.; stolen BMW in Hanover

BOONTON TWP.

•At 11:30 a.m. on Nov. 15, police were dispatched to a township residence for a report of an unwanted female standing outside the house yelling. Officers arrived on scene and encountered Nicolette Koehler, 53, of Boonton Twp., standing in the complainant’s driveway. Koehler ignored several commands from officers and when they then attempted to place Koehler under arrest, she became combative. Koehler began to physically resist, and after a brief struggle she was placed under arrest. Koehler was transported to police headquarters where she was charged with trespassing, obstruction, hindering, and resisting arrest. Koehler was released pending a future court date.

HANOVER

•At 3:07 p.m. on Nov. 20, Patrolman Richard Camasta responded to Wal-Mart on a report of a shoplifter. Camasta spoke to a representative of the Loss Prevention Department who stated a man arrived in a small red car, possibly a Volkswagen Golf, exited the driver’s side door and a passenger exited the passenger side door and then got into the driver’s seat. The one man entered the store and placed a $649 HP Pavilion 23 into a shopping cart and then walked to a fire emergency door and eventually got back into the same car that he had arrived in. Videos of the theft are being examined for further information. The male actor appeared to be white male with a beard, wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt, green baseball hat and black pants.

•On Nov. 21, Patrolman Paul Weaver responded to a report of a stolen vehicle on Sterling Court; a black, 2012 BMW 650i was taken from the driveway of the residence. The owner of the vehicle stated the vehicle was stolen between Nov. 20 at 7:30 p.m. and 9 a.m. on Nov. 21. The vehicle is worth a reported $55,000 and was locked with the alarm activated at the time of the theft.

PARSIPPANY

•At 1:22 a.m. on Nov. 15, Officer E. Elston observed a 2006 Infiniti G35 conduct an improper U-turn on Route 46 West at Schoolhouse Road. Elston conducted a motor vehicle stop on the vehicle at Baldwin Road and Route 46. He then spoke to the driver, Benjamin Dang, 32, from Parsippany, and his passenger Abraham Pensado, 32, of West Orange. After a brief investigation, Pensado was placed under arrest for possession of marijuana. Pensado was transported to police headquarters were he was issued a summons for possession of 50 grams or less of marijuana. He was released on his own recognizance pending his court appearance. Dang was issued a summons for making an improper U-turn and released at the scene.

•At 6:29 p.m. on Nov. 13, police were advised that a person was slumped over inside a white Lexus in a lane of travel in the area of New Road and South Edwards Road. Prior to the arrival of responding officers, police were advised that the vehicle was now traveling on South Edwards Road. Officer M. Sprung located the vehicle in the parking lot of Rutgers Village Apartments and conducted a traffic stop. Upon making contact with William Scheeler, 46, of Livingston, NJ, a brief investigation was conducted and Scheeler was charged with possession of a prescription legend drug (1 suspected pill of oxycodone hydrochloride and 1 suspected pill of alprazolam), driving while intoxicated, reckless driving, possession of an open container of an alcoholic beverage in a motor vehicle, failure to provide documents, and possession of a controlled dangerous substance in a motor vehicle. Scheeler was transported back to police headquarters were he was processed and released on his own recognizance into the custody of a friend pending his court date.
