Delayed school openings in Morris, but PARCC testing is on

The never-ending winter has produced more delayed school openings Friday morning in Morris County.

Some districts, however, noted in their weather updates that while school may open later than usual, the scheduled Partnership for Assessment of Readiness for College and Careers testing, better known as PARCC, will take place as planned. Those districts include Rockaway and Mount Arlington.

Announced delays are in effect for the following school districts:

•All Saints Academy (Parsippany): 90-minute delayed opening. The building will open at 8:45a.m. for grades K-8.and 9 a.m.for PS and PK. PS and PK half-day classes will be in session.

•Boonton: High School: 9:35 a.m., John Hill School, Grades 6-8: 9:30 a.m., Grades 1-5: 10:27 a.m., School Street School: 10:00 a.m.

•Butler: Delayed opening; contact schools for schedule.

•Chathams: High School 9:40 a.m., Middle School 10:00 a.m., Lafayette School 10:45 a.m., Chatham Elementary (Grades 1-3) 10:35 10:35 a.m. Bus pick-up will be approximately two hours later than usual.

• Chester: Two-hour delay.

•Denville: Delayed opening; Contact schools for schedule.

•Dover: Delayed start times in effect.

•East Hanover: Frank J. Smith Elementary AM Preschool 3-year-olds 10:50 a.m. 1 p.m.; PM Preschool 4-year-olds 1-3 p.m.; ECC 10:50 a.m.-3 p.m.; AM Kindergarten 10:50 a.m.-1:05 p.m.; PM Kindergarten 1:10-3:20 p.m.; Grades 1 and 2 10:50 a.m. - 3:20 p.m.; Central Elementary Grades 3-5 10:50 a.m.-3:10 p.m.; Middle School Grades10:05 a.m. - 2:45 p.m

•Florham Park: Two-hour delay.

•Gill St. Bernard's: Two-hour delay.

•Harding: Two-hour delay.

• Kinnelon: 90-minute delay.

•Lincoln Park: Two-hour delayed opening.

•Mendham Borough: Two-hour delay.

•Mendham Township: Two-hour delay.

•Mine Hill (Canfield Avenue School): 10 a.m.

•Montville: Two-hour delay.MEDLC opens 9 a.m.

• Morris Catholic: 10 a.m.

•Morris County Vocational: 10 a.m.

•Morris Hills: Two-hour delay.

•Morris Plains: Two-hour delay. Staff should report at 10 a.m. for the first workshop at Mountain Way School and Borough School.

•Morristown-Beard School: 9:45 a.m.

•Mount Arlington: 90-minute delay. PARCC testing begins at 10:30 a.m.

•Mount Olive: Two-hour delayed opening.

•Netcong: Netcong Elementary 10 a.m.; AM Preschool 10 a.m. to 12:10 p.m.; PM Preschool 12:40 to 2:50 p.m.

•Parsippany: 90-minute delay.

•The Peck School: 10 a.m.

•Pequannock: Two-hour delayed opening..

•Rockaway Borough: Thomas Jefferson and Lincoln School 90 minute delayed opening; AM Pre-School and AM Kindergarten 10 a.m. to 12:15 p.m.; PM Pre-School and PM Kindergarten 1 p.m. to 3:10 p.m. Thomas Jefferson School homeroom begins at 9:55 a.m. Lincoln classes start at 10 a.m. Fourth and fifth graders will take PARCC test as planned.

•Rockaway Township: Two-hour delay.

•Washington Township: Two-hour delay.

•West Morris Regional: Two-hour delay.

•Wharton: 10 a.m.
