Police Blotter: Urinating with cocaine in Mt. Olive; not clearing snow in Randolph

LONG HILL

•On Feb. 2, police investigated a motor vehicle crash at about 12:39 p.m. in the parking lot of 1153 Valley Road. Joseph Danno, 64, of Florham Park, backed into a parked vehicle while snow plowing the parking lot. As a result of the crash no injuries were reported and no summonses were issued.

•On Feb. 4, a resident of Stirling reported that in early January 2015, someone made fraudulent purchases on their credit card in Louisiana. Police are continuing their investigation.

MOUNT OLIVE

•At 10:23 p.m. on Feb. 7, Officer Christopher Saunders and Officer Chad Rossy were performing a business check of the Village Green Shopping Complex when they observed a 2013 Ford idling in the rear of the building. The officers investigated and observed that the driver of the vehicle, Billy Calixto, 31, of Passaic, was standing next to the vehicle urinating on the ground. Saunders detected the odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from Calixto and had him perform field sobriety tests. Calixto was subsequently arrested and during a search incidental to arrest, Saunders located suspected cocaine and suspected drug paraphernalia on Calixto's person. Calixto was charged with possession of cocaine, possession of drug paraphernalia, driving while intoxicated, reckless driving, open alcoholic beverage container in a motor vehicle, possession of a controlled dangerous substance in a motor vehicle and public urination. Calixto was released on bail and he has a pending court appearance.

•At 3:01 p.m. on Feb. 8, Officer Lonnie Elbaum was patrolling Route 46 in the area of Naughright Road when he observed a 2007 Nissan traveling Route 46 west at a high rate of speed so he stopped it and spoke to the driver, Andrejs Bannikovs, 22 of Chatham. Elbaum detected the odor of raw marijuana coming from inside the vehicle and found it and suspected drug paraphernalia. Bannikovs was charged with possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, speeding, and possession of controlled dangerous substance in a motor vehicle. Bannikovs was released on his own recognizance and he has a pending court appearance.

RANDOLPH

•On Jan. 27, Officer Jeremiah Crowley responded to a residence on Ironia Road for a noise complaint caused by ATVs. The homeowner was advised of the local noise ordinance.

•On Jan. 27, Terrance J. Lee, 22, of Morristown, was arrested for hindering his own apprehension. Lee also had an outstanding warrant issued by the Morristown Municipal Court. Lee posted bail and was released.

•On Jan. 28, Earl P. Peterson, 21, of Mine Hill, was arrested for possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. Peterson was also issued two motor vehicle summonses.

•On Jan. 28, Sgt. Edward Shivas responded to the Canfield Mews Apartments for a complaint of the snow not being cleared in the parking lots and sidewalks. The complex owner was notified and the snow and ice condition was taken care of.

•On Jan. 28, Officer Christopher Carbonaro took a report of credit card fraud. The victim reported there was $2000 in fraudulent charges on his Macy’s account.
