Police Blotter: Trying to bite an officer in Hanover; stolen wipers in Randolph

HANOVER

•At 7:52 p.m. on Feb. 2, Patrolman John Schauder arrested Jill Pryer, 48, of Florham Park, and charged her with driving while intoxicated, speeding and reckless driving. Pryer had been pulled over on Route 10 for speeding when the indicators of intoxication were observed. She was processed and released to a friend. A passenger in the car with Jill was arrested by Patrolman Joe Quinn and charged with aggravated assault, and resisting arrest and obstruction. Gay Fahey, 54, of Annandale, was arrested after she scratched and tried to bite the hand of the officer who was trying to turn off the vehicle. She was processed and released to a family member.

•At 3:39 p.m. on Feb. 7, Stuart Hall, 21, of Morristown, was arrested on an active warrant issued out of Morris Plains. The warrant was in the amount of $1,000 for failure to appear on a controlled dangerous substance charge. Police had chased Hall out of a fire zone but then Stuart returned and was stopped again. Hall posted the bail and was given summons for improper parking, maintenance of lamps, driving while suspended and failure to exhibit a valid insurance card.

MOUNT OLIVE

•At 12:53 a.m. on Feb. 7, Officer Thomas Cuff was patrolling Route 46 in the area of Netcong Road when he observed a 2012 Chevrolet traveling Route 46 west fail to maintain a lane so he conducted a motor vehicle stop. Cuff approached the vehicle, identified the three juvenile occupants and detected the odor of marijuana coming from inside the vehicle. Two of the juveniles voluntarily handed suspected marijuana and suspected drug paraphernalia to Cuff. The two juveniles were subsequently arrested and transported to police headquarters where they were charged with possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. Both subjects were released to a parent/guardian and they both have pending court appearances

•At 8:43 p.m. on Feb. 7, Officer Thomas Cuff was patrolling Route 46 in the area of Smithtown Road when he observed a 1999 Acura traveling Route 46 west failing to keep right on a divided highway so he stopped it. Cuff detected the odor of raw marijuana coming from inside the vehicle and performed a pat down search on one of the passengers, Aaron Sarmiento, 19, of Jersey City, and located suspected marijuana and suspected drug paraphernalia. Sarmiento was subsequently charged with possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. Sarmiento was released on his own recognizance and has a pending court appearance.

RANDOLPH

•On Jan. 24 Officer Matthew O’Hern responded to a residence on Route 10 for a report of someone ringing their doorbell and running. The officer observed footprints in the snow in the driveway around several vehicles and leading to the front door.

•On Jan. 25, Officer Brian Gallina responded to the parking lot of the Canfield Mews Apartment for a report of damage to a motor vehicle. The front and rear windshield wipers had been broken and all four plastic tire air caps had been removed.

•On Jan. 26, Officer Jeremiah Crowley responded to a business on Righter Road for the report of equipment stolen from a landscape trailer.

•On Jan. 27, Katherine N. Flores, 22, of Randolph was arrested for an outstanding warrant issued by the Roxbury Municipal Court. Flores was released on her own recognizance.
