Delayed school openings Tuesday Feb. 10

A stubborn pattern of snow, ice and freezing rain that closed many school districts on Monday is prompting additional delayed openings Tuesday morning in Morris County.

Some of the largest districts, including Parsippany, the Hanovers, Morris Hills in Denville and Rockaway are open for regular hours. Winter break, however, begins tomorrow at Morris Hills and Morris Knolls high schools and continues through Tuesday.

But delayed openings can be found in the following districts:

•Boonton: High School: 9:35 a.m.; John Hill School, Grades 6-8 9:30 a.m., Grades 1-5: :27 a.m.

•Chester: Two-hour delay

•Craig School (Mountain Lakes): 10:a.m.

•Gill St. Bernard's: Two-hour delay

•Jefferson: Two-hour delay

•Lincoln Park: Two-hour delay, no a.m. preschool.

•Mendham Borough: Two-hour delay opening 10:30 a.m.; no before-school activities.

•Mendham Township: Two-hour delay

•Montville: Two-hour delay.

•Morris Catholic High School: Two-hour delay

•Two-hour delay. Afternoon sessions of kindergarten and preschool are canceled.

•Netcong: Delayed opening at 10 a.m.

•Pequannock: Two-hour delay.

• •West Morris Regional: Two-hour delayed opening. Due to the district already using its three allotted school-emergency day closings, Superintendent Mackey Pendergrast has proposed the reinstatement of school on Presidents Day, Feb. 16.
