PARSIPPANY – Three designer purses were stolen from three cars parked outside of three different day care centers in Parsippany on the same morning, police said.

Patrolman Remo D’Alessandro said police “strongly believe” the incidents are related, but the investigation is ongoing.

All three purses were taken last Friday, the first at about 10 a.m. at the Learning Experience Day Care on Parsippany Boulevard.

Officer Andy Van Orden responded to a report of a burglary to an automobile and a 33-year-old female victim from Fredon told him her Coach purse was missing from the front seat of her unlocked 2011 Audi, police said.

The woman noticed the purse was gone after she returned from checking her son into day care, police said.

Minutes later at about 10:04 a.m. Officer Damon Farms responded to Bright Horizons Day Care on Dryden Way for a reported automobile burglary, police said.

Farms arrived to find a 37-year-old woman from Denville, who told him she returned to her 2013 Subaru after dropping her children off at the day care center to find the front driver’s side window smashed and her Coach purse missing, police said.

Later that night at about 6:16 p.m., a 39-year-old woman from Morris Plains responded to police headquarters to report an automobile burglary, police said.

The 39-year-old woman reported her purse, iPad, and Kindle Fire were stolen from her unlocked vehicle, police said.

The 39-year-old woman noticed the items were missing after she arrived at work after dropping her son off at the Apple Montessori Day Care on Simpson Avenue in Mount Tabor.

Anyone who might have information about the thefts is asked to call 973-263-4311.
