Morris Schools: delayed-opening details for Tuesday

A post-Super Bowl storm that closed schools and iced over Morris County roads is causing residual delays delays for school openings this morning.

A winter weather advisory is still in effect until 9 a.m. for Morris County, according to the National Weather Service. The advisory cautions that icy conditions will continue on roads, sidewalks and parking lots, with wind chills in the single digits. The high temperature for the day is not expected to exceed 21 degrees.

No school cancellations have been reported, but several schools and districts have announced delayed openings:

• Boonton (Boonton High School: 9:35 a.m.; John Hill School grades 6-8 9:30 a.m., grades 1-5 10:27 a.m.; School Street School 10 a.m.).

• Boonton Township (two-hour delay)

• Butler (90 minutes)

• Chathams (bus pickup approx two hours late: high school 9:40 a.m.; middle school 10 a.m.; elementary 1-3 10:35 a.m.; Lafayette School 10:45 a.m.)

• East Hanover (Frank J.
