The Delbarton wrestling team, seeking its record-tying seventh straight Morris County Tournament team title, had the most No. 1 seeds at the tournament seeding meeting at Mount Olive High School on Thursday night.

The Green Wave, who are bidding to tie Jefferson (1990-96) for their seventh straight team title, led the way with four No. 1 seeds.

Action gets underway with preliminaries at Mount Olive on Friday afternoon at 4 p.m. with the first round to follow. On Saturday, the quarterfinals will begin at 10 a.m., with the semifinals at 1 p.m. and consolations at 3 p.m. The finals are scheduled to begin at 5:30 p.m.

Delbarton's returning MCT and state champion Ty Agaisse (14-2), who won it last year at 106 pounds, is the No. 1 seed at 120 pounds. Returning champion Travis Vasquez (17-0), who won the MCT at 138 last year and was third in the state, is the No. 1 seed at 145. Joe Tavoso (21-4), who won it at 152 last year before going on to place fourth in the state, is the top seed at 152.

Nick Farro (16-1), who was an MCT runnerup to Hanover Park's Anthony Cefolo last year at 120, has wrestled all season at 126 but bumped up to 132 and is the No. 1 seed at that weight. Farro was sixth in the state last year at 120.

Morris Knolls saw three wrestlers – all of them undefeated – gain No. 1 seeds. At 113 pounds, Garrett O'Shea (22-0) earned the top seed. O'Shea was second to Agaisse at 106 last year and wound up placing sixth in the state. The Drugac brothers, meanwhile, were top seeds in back-to-back weights. Luke (22-0) was named the top seed at 170, while Dean (22-0) earned the No. 1 seed at 182. Dean Drugac was a county champion last year at 160. Luke Drugac was third.

No other school had more than one top seed.

West Morris's Shane Metzler (18-0) was the top seed at 106 and his upper portion of the bracket is loaded with potential state placewinners in fifth-seeded Patrick Glory (22-3) of Delbarton, who placed fourth at the Beast of the East, and Hanover Park's fourth-seeded Gerard Angelo (17-2), who was third at the Beast.

Hanover Park's Cefolo (16-1), a two-time state champion, is the top seed at 126. He was named the Outstanding Wrestler last week at the highly touted Escape the Rock Tournament in western Pennsylvania last weekend.

Mendham's Eric Friedman (23-0) is the top seed at 138, where he was second behind Vasquez last year, losing in the finals, 2-0. Friedman placed eighth in the state last year.

Jefferson's Luke Bohn (22-0) was named the top seed at 160 pounds. Bohn was a finalist before losing to Tavoso at 152 last year.

Mendham's Tim Byrne (18-1 at 220), Parsippany's Andrew Massefski (18-0 at 195) and Parsippany Hills' Kyle McGinley (17-2 at 285) were named top seeds in their respective weights. McGinley was third at heavyweight last year.
