HARDING – A heating and cooling expert from Flemington was killed Wednesday when his car overturned on Mount Kemble Avenue, Police Chief Mark Giansanti said Thursday.

The victim of the single-car accident in the area of 1112 Mount Kemble Ave., also known as Route 202, was identified as Matthew R. McMahon, 34, of Flemington. He was employed by Ludlow Heating & Cooling of Bernardsville, where a worker Thursday declined comment.

Police were dispatched at 11:26 a.m. to the Country Side Gulf Station for an accident involving an overturned vehicle with the driver trapped inside. McMahon was treated by township officers and New Vernon Fire Department members before care was turned over to Morristown Medical Center’s Mobile Intensive Care Unit and New Vernon First Aid Squad members, Giansanti said.

The victim was taken to Morristown Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.

The chief said the cause of the crash remained under investigation Thursday. The Morris County Prosecutor’s Office and county Sheriff’s Office assisted at the scene.

Anyone with information is asked to call the township police at 973-455-0500.
