Invest in a piece of history this weekend as the Morristown Armory Antiques Show returns from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday. This year’s show will feature more than 100 prominent antiques dealers. The two-day antiques event will spotlight dealers featuring the finest in antique and estate jewelry, furniture, ephemera rugs, antiquarian items, and much more.

“This is one of the oldest and most diverse antiques shows in New Jersey,” said Allison Kohler, president of show organizer JMK Shows.

Admission is $10, and parking is free. Coupons are available on the JMK Shows website.

Among the new exhibitors who will be featured this year include: Knollwood Antiques, LLC of Thorndike, Massachusetts, and Continental Antique Furniture from Sarasota, Florida.

“Visitors will find a wide assortment of pieces that were made to last,” Kohler said. “Our society is becoming more aware of the importance of recycling and preservation ... so buying antiques really is one of the best forms of ‘going green.’ ” The prominent furniture dealers include Roger Winter, Zane Moss, Essex Antiquarians, White Orchid and Arise Bazaar.

“The Morristown Armory Antiques Show is a decorator’s dream weekend,” she said.

Shoppers will also find decorative objects including porcelain, glass, sterling, and jewelry, with collections presented by Fair Trade Antiques, Gardner Burke, Kimerling Antiques, and Memories Antiques. Since 1985, the owners of Regence Holding Antiques have been traveling throughout Europe to find historically-accurate antiques, bronzes, and fine small accessories.

“I think people will be really amazed by the quality, craftsmanship, and history of the items that they’ll find at the show,” Kohler said.

There will also be an abundance of art, with dealers specializing in Asian art and antiques, such as Marvin Baer, Mah Jongg, Chairperson, and JSD Antiques. Fine art will be offered by Art and Antiques Gallery, Patrick Hastings, and Jaffe and Thurston, while vendors like Sabina A. Wood Antiques from Northeast Harbor, Maine will highlight photography and prints.

“We have rugs and furniture and art and jewelry in styles ranging from modern to English to French to Oriental to American ... there really is something for everyone, and in every price range,” Kohler said.

Visitors will have an opportunity to meet the vendors and ask questions while perusing the collections of some of finest antiques exhibitors in the country, and all while immersing themselves in historic and vintage art and design from all over the world.

“Shoppers really enjoy the opportunity to speak with so many experts in one place, and develop a deeper appreciation of the utilitarian purpose of antiques,” she said. “They come to the show to learn about history, make an investment, and buy something that will only increase in value for years to come.”

Food will be provided by The Randolph Diner both days of the event.

There will also be special services offered during the show, including on-site glass restoration by Wade Nulton, pottery and porcelain restoration by Louis Pirrello, and on-site verbal appraisal services for $5 per item by White Orchid Appraisals.

“Buying an antique is a way to invest in your future by recycling the past,” Kohler said.
