Police Blotter: Passed out behind the wheel in Denville; pot charge in Washington Twp.

DENVILLE

•At 4 a.m. on Dec. 20, police located Blake Summers, 23, of Little Falls, passed out behind the wheel of his 2003 Toyota. The vehicle was in the fast lane of Route 46 with its front tires driven into the curb of the center divider. Summers was woken and escorted out of his vehicle and determined to be under the influence. He was charged with driving while intoxicated, obstruction of traffic, uninsured motor vehicle, failure to exhibit documents and failure to notify of change of address. He was released to the custody of a friend.

HANOVER

•At 12:55 a.m. on Dec. 20, Sgt. Anthony Vitanza arrested Jorge Mionez, 44, of Morristown, and charged him with driving while intoxicated, careless driving, driving while suspended, unlicensed driver, failure to exhibit insurance card, failure to signal turn, open container of alcohol in a motor vehicle and consumption of alcohol in a motor vehicle. Mionez was stopped on Route 10 after passing a DWI check point and almost striking one of the officers. Mionez was processed at HQ and then turned over to his wife.

•At 1:01 a.m. on Dec. 20, Patrolman Richard Camasta arrested Christopher Faccibene, 46, of Morris Plains, and charged him with driving while intoxicated, refusal to submit to a breath sample and reckless driving. Camasta had been stopped at a DWI check point on Route 10 when the evidence of intoxication was observed. Camasta was processed at HQ and released to a family member.

•At 10:29 a.m. on Dec. 20, Patrolman Edward Zakrzewski arrested Brittany Foster, 19, of Rockaway, on an active warrant. The warrant was issued out of Rockaway in the amount of $340 for failure to appear. Foster posted the bail and was released with motor vehicle summonses for noisy muffler, failure to make repairs and failure to possess a driver’s license. Foster had been stopped on Algonquin Parkway for the noisy muffler when the warrant was found.

LONG HILL

•On Dec. 16, police investigated a motor vehicle crash at about 12:27 p.m. on Main Avenue. Ogden Link, 82, of Basking Ridge, was stopped in traffic behind Louis Capawana, 55, of Gillette, when Capawana backed into Link’s vehicle. As a result of the crash no injuries were reported and no summonses were issued.

•On Dec. 17, police investigated a motor vehicle crash at about 3:07 p.m. in the parking lot of 1153 Valley Road. Hyacinth Esson, 55, of Piscataway, was backing out of a parking spot collided with a vehicle driven by Eleni Filippatos, 66, of Basking Ridge, who was also backing out of a parking spot. As a result of the crash no injuries were report and Wilson was issued a summons for careless driving with a pending court date.

SPARTA

•At 9:08 p.m. on Monday, police were dispatched to Route 15 for the report of an erratic driver. A cell phone caller reported the driver was having a difficult time maintaining the lane of travel. Cpl. Dave Pridham located the vehicle in question on Route 15, a 2014 Mercedes Benz, in the area of the 13.5 mile mark. After making independent observations of erratic operation, Pridham stopped the vehicle. The driver, Theodore J. Wynn, 49, of Wantage, was arrested after failing a series of field sobriety tests. He was transported to headquarters for processing and breath testing. Wynn was charged with driving while intoxicated, careless driving and failure to maintain lane of travel. He was released several hours later to a sober friend.

WASHINGTON TWP.

•At 3:53 a.m. on Dec. 20, Officers Dan Parrish and Ryan Olah stopped a red 2000 Pontiac Grand Prix on Pleasant Grove Road for making an improper turn and for having a light out in the rear of the vehicle. Upon speaking with the driver, Gregory Henderson, 25, of Lewisburg, Pa., the officers immediately detected a strong odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle. The officers found marijuana and drug paraphernalia hidden underneath the center console. Henderson was charged with possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, improper turn, and failure to maintain lights.
